It’s his 148th birth anniversary on 2nd October this year and we all can remember him the old way that is by prayer services and tributes to him all over the country or the commemorative ceremonies in different cities and colleges, local governments but there is another way as well, and it’s the more fun way to remember him. It is a joint Indian and south African film, directed by Shyam Benegal, about the early life of mahatma Gandhi. This film is based upon the book “the apprentice f a mahatma” by Fatima Meer who also wrote the screenplay.

It is an Indian comedy drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani in which the eponymous character starts to see the spirit of mahatma Gandhi through which he starts to practice the values of him which he calls Gandhigiri for helping ordinary people in their day to day life.

The film explores the troubles relationship between mahatma Gandhi and his son Harilal Gandhi. It is based on a novel by Gujarati author Dinkar Joshi. The movie was shot in south Africa and in several Indian cities.

It is a 2019 British-Indian historical political thriller film directed by Karim Traidia and Pankaj Sehgal. It examines the events leading to the assassination of mahatma Gandhi.
These films prove that Mahatma Gandhi was not just the biggest figure in the Indian independence movement but also the face of it to the rest of the world. His philosophies of non-violence, civil disobedience and a will of steel helped obliterate the most powerful empire the world had ever seen.
